Culture & customs
The cow is the national animal of Nepal and a symbol of Laxmi. She is given a garland, a tika and special food. In Hindu Nepal, it is illegal to kill a cow.
Sel roti is fried in every kitchen during Tihar, and each family has its own recipe.
