Culture & customs
On Navami, Vishwakarma, the god of craftsmen, is worshipped through the tools people work with. Vehicles, machines and tools get a red tika and a marigold garland, and some get a sacrifice, to ask for a year without accidents. Many drivers put a small offering on the bonnet.
Taleju is the royal goddess of the Malla kings. Non-Hindus can’t go inside, but the square around it is full of worshippers.
